From Dolomite classics to 4,000ers
Every tour has its own character: some demand lots of stamina, others strength and climbing technique. Here is a selection of my most popular summits – I’m happy to advise you personally on which one suits you.

Dolomite summits
The great normal routes: stand on the Cima Grande, the Langkofel or the Hohe Gaisl once in your life – safely roped up, with local route knowledge.

Cima Grande – normal route
2.999 m
Standing on top of the Cima Grande once in a lifetime – every mountaineer’s dream.

Cima Ovest – normal route
2.973 m
Technically a little easier than the Cima Grande, but trickier route-finding.

Cima Piccola – normal route
2.857 m
The slimmest and steepest of the Three Peaks – with a spectacular abseil descent.

Zwölferkofel – normal route
3.094 m
Adventure away from the crowds – with a night at the Büllelejoch hut.

Hohe Gaisl – normal route
3.146 m
One of the most imposing and complex mountains in the Dolomites.

Langkofel – normal route
3.181 m
Long, varied and never really hard – a great classic since 1869.

Classic rock climbs
Historic lines and hidden gems – many of them on my home turf of Fanes, Puez and Cortina. As a local guide I can often drive up to the hut: less approach, more climbing.

Punta Frida
2.792 m
The elegant, often overlooked tower of the Three Peaks – rarely a queue here.

Preuss Tower – Preuss crack
In the footsteps of Paul Preuss: the striking crack-corner of 1911.

Neunerspitze – Messner direttissima
2.968 m
Friction slabs, water runnels and Messner history – a day tour thanks to driving access to the Lavarella hut.

Peitlerkofel north face – Hruschka & Messner
2.875 m
600 metres of north face above the Peitler meadows – my home mountain, visible from my bedroom window.

Sas dai Tamersc – Samblana & Fluch der Kamine
My crag on the doorstep: a 15-minute approach, one of my own first ascents and spectacular chimneys.

Torre del Lago – Via dall’Oglio & Pisoni-Stenico
A steep tower above Lake Lagazuoi – with a dream corner at a moderate grade.

Scotoni south-west face – Lacedelli & Fachiri
2.874 m
A face considered unclimbable until 1952 – and the legendary Fachiri route of 1972.

Tofana di Rozes – south face
3.225 m
An 800-metre labyrinth above Cortina – from the 1901 Dimai route to the Costantini-Apollonio and its infamous ‘donkey’s back’.

Monte Agner – north ridge
2.872 m
The longest climb in the Dolomites – with a deluxe bivouac after about 20 pitches.

The ‘stairway to heaven’ to the only 4,000er of the Eastern Alps – combined with the Palü traverse.

Ortler – normal route, Hintergrat & Meran route
